Right-angle extension cord for tight outlets

This 6-foot power extension cord uses a right-angle plug to fit behind furniture or equipment where a straight plug would block access. It accepts standard two-prong polarised devices such as chargers, lamps and small power adapters. The inline on-off switch sits 15 centimetres from the female end for convenient control.

Thermals and power draw in normal use

The cord is built with 16 AWG copper conductors rated for 12 amps at 125 volts and 6 amps at 250 volts. A moulded PVC jacket provides durable insulation while remaining flexible for routing. UL and CUL listings confirm the assembly meets North American safety standards for continuous operation at the rated load.

Inline switch and polarised connectors

The integrated switch lets you cut power to connected devices without unplugging them, reducing wear on wall outlets. Both the male NEMA 1-15P plug and female NEMA 1-15R receptacle are polarised, ensuring correct hot-neutral orientation. The package includes one black 1.8-metre cord ready for immediate use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the right-angle plug so the cord lies flat against the wall?

Insert the polarised 16AWG male plug into the outlet with the right-angle bend pointing downward; the switch sits 15 cm from the female end, so leave that section free.

When should I replace the inline on-off switch?

Replace the switch if it feels loose, crackles, or no longer clicks firmly at the 12 A 125 V rating marked on its body.

What is the first limit reached when the cord runs at full load for hours?

The 16AWG copper conductors hit their 12 A 125 V thermal limit before the UL-listed PVC jacket shows any stress.
