What this splitter does

The PORTTA 122HD4KU-N2SP12MPD takes one HDMI source and sends an identical signal to two displays. It is built for installers and home-theatre owners who need to show the same 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 image on a pair of screens without stretching the desktop.

The downscaler decides compatibility

The unit can downscale a 4K input to 1080p on one output while keeping 4K on the other, so mixed-resolution displays work together. It handles 18Gbps total bandwidth, 12-bit deep colour, HDR, HDCP 2.2 and 3D formats, but it will not extend a desktop across two monitors.

Build integration

Connect the source to the single input and run two HDMI cables up to 30 feet to the displays. The splitter passes uncompressed LPCM and compressed formats such as DTS and Dolby TrueHD without audio extraction. It requires no software drivers and draws power from the included supply.

Questions about this item

What does 4K at 60Hz 4:4:4 actually deliver on my screens?

It sends a full 18Gbps signal so both connected displays receive 4K 60Hz with 12-bit colour and no chroma subsampling.

Which HDMI version and HDCP levels does the splitter use, and what do they limit?

The unit runs HDMI 2.0 bandwidth with HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, so protected 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 and HDR content passes through without handshake failures.

How much space and cable reach does the 20-inch pigtail need behind my TV?

The fixed 20-inch lead connects the source; you then run two HDMI cables up to 30 feet each to the displays.
