Solid silicone cord prevents collapse when heating and bending 10 mm ID rigid tubing
The PrimoChill 9.5mm OD solid silicone cord is designed for DIY liquid-cooling builders who work with 10mm inner-diameter acrylic or PETG tubing. It sits inside the tube while heat is applied, preventing the walls from collapsing or forming cavities during complex bends. The tight fit is intentional and requires stretching plus lubrication before insertion.
The cord acts as a temporary mandrel that frees the builder from kinks, flat spots and air pockets when shaping rigid runs. It demands patience and practice; the solid construction makes removal harder than hollow alternatives and it cannot be stretched as far. A 3-foot length is supplied for cutting to the required bend sections.
Builders moving up from tubed inserts or improvised tools gain tighter bend radii with less surface distortion on intricate loops. The trade-off is a more difficult extraction and limited stretch, so the jump is worth it only when the routing demands bends that would otherwise collapse the tube.
