Pro Star CD Player for VW Golf Cabriolet

This Pro Star unit adds an external CD player to 2019-2026 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet models that no longer include one. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port for power and data, allowing music playback from standard CDs through the factory audio system.

Suits owners wanting factory-style CD playback

Drivers who prefer listening to their existing CD collection through the original radio and steering-wheel controls will find this a direct solution. Buyers who want more storage, streaming-only audio, or a full head-unit replacement with a screen should look at something else.

Check USB port location and mounting space

Verify that your Golf Cabriolet has an accessible USB port the cable can reach for plug-and-play power. Ensure there is a suitable spot on the centre console, in the glove box, or nearby to mount the player vertically or horizontally. Allow two minutes for the CD to finish indexing during setup.

Questions about this item

Does my Golf Cabriolet need a factory USB port for this Pro Star CD player to work?

Yes, the unit draws power and data through the vehicle's USB port, so a factory USB port is required for operation.

Will steering-wheel audio controls still work with this CD player installed?

The player is designed to let you control music from the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons without extra adapters.

How do I know the CD player has finished indexing after I insert a disc?

Wait the full two minutes mentioned in the instructions; once that period passes without interruption, the disc is indexed and ready to play.
