This external CD player adds disc playback to Kia Soul models from 2019 through 2026 that lack a factory unit. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with the existing CarPlay interface. The device is powered entirely through that USB connection, so no separate power wiring is required. Drivers control playback using the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons.

Plug-and-play installation limits flexibility

The unit must be placed where its fixed USB cable can reach the vehicle port, restricting mounting to the centre console, glove box or similar locations. It draws all power from the USB port, so the car's port must supply sufficient current for reliable operation. A mandatory two-minute indexing period follows each disc insertion; interrupting this process forces a complete restart with a different disc. No auxiliary inputs, Bluetooth pairing or wireless CarPlay are provided.

Factory radio and steering-wheel control integration

Playback commands are handled entirely through the vehicle's original head unit and steering-wheel controls once the USB link is established. There is no separate remote, front-panel display or independent volume knob on the CD player itself. Buyers who want a standalone changer with its own controls or who need to play discs while the infotainment system is offline will not be served by this design.
