A four-bay desktop NAS with an Intel Celeron N5095 processor and 4 GB DDR4 memory for personal cloud backup and media streaming
The Qnap TS-462A-4G-US is a diskless desktop NAS with four SATA bays for 3.5-inch hard drives or 2.5-inch SSDs. An Intel Celeron N5095 processor and 4GB of DDR4 memory handle file serving, backup and media streaming for home or small-office users. Two SODIMM slots allow expansion up to 16GB when workloads grow. The unit ships without drives so you choose the capacity that fits your library.
Four drive bays give room for multi-terabyte arrays while two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 x 1 slots add cache or fast metadata tiers. The installed 4GB DDR4 is sufficient for everyday streaming and backup tasks; heavier virtualization or database loads will hit the 16GB ceiling. No drives are included, so usable capacity depends entirely on the disks you install. The 2.5GbE port can become a bottleneck when multiple clients pull large media files simultaneously.
A single 2.5GbE port links the NAS to the network, while two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports attach external drives or a UPS. Front-panel LEDs show power, LAN, USB and per-bay drive status at a glance. The 65W external adapter runs on 100-240V input, keeping the chassis compact and quiet. Operating temperatures from 0 to 40 °C suit typical indoor environments; the system is not designed for dusty or unconditioned spaces.

The 2.5GbE port auto-negotiates down to 1GbE, so it works with existing 1GbE switches and routers without configuration changes.
The Power/Status LED shows solid green when the system boots successfully; the four HDD LEDs light up as each installed drive is detected.
Four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives go in the front bays; two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 x1 SSDs fit the internal slots. All drives are sold separately.
