Outdoor Cat 6 Ethernet Cable

The QualGear RJ45 Cat 6 outdoor Ethernet cable delivers a 25 ft shielded run rated for 1 Gbps at 250 MHz. Gold-plated contacts ensure a reliable connection between routers, switches or networked devices. UV-resistant and weatherproof jacketing allows permanent outdoor exposure and direct burial without conduit. It suits installers who need a single, durable drop between buildings or to an exterior access point.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, emits no noise and draws no power of its own. The low-voltage design simply carries the signal supplied by connected equipment. Shielding protects data integrity against electromagnetic interference along the full 25 ft length. Performance stays consistent whether the cable rests in a trench, along a wall or across a roof.

Bundled Accessories and Software

No connectors, tools, mounting hardware or configuration software are included in the package. Buyers who need pre-terminated patch panels, keystone jacks or a crimping tool must source those separately. The cable arrives ready to plug into any standard RJ45 port without further preparation. Installers planning multiple runs should order additional lengths from the 25 ft to 300 ft range.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 25 ft outdoor Cat 6 cable and what step is often missed?

Route the shielded cable along the planned path, keep bends gentle, and terminate both RJ45 ends into gigabit ports; the step most people skip is grounding the shield at one end to prevent noise buildup.

What maintenance or replacement will the 25 ft outdoor Cat 6 cable need over time?

Inspect the UV-resistant jacket once a year for cracks or abrasion, clean the gold-plated contacts if corrosion appears, and replace the cable only if the shield or conductors show physical damage.

What limit appears first on the 25 ft Cat 6 cable during sustained 1 Gbps traffic?

The 250 MHz bandwidth ceiling is reached before the 1 Gbps data rate, so sustained throughput tops out at the cable’s rated frequency limit.
