What this stapler does

The Rapesco R81000A3 Porpoise Classic is a manual chrome stapling plier built for packaging tasks such as sealing jiffy bags, cartons and tubes. Its all-metal construction and rotating anvil allow both permanent stapling and temporary pinning.

Staple compatibility and throat depth

The tool accepts Type 26 Standard staples in 1/4" and 5/16" leg lengths as well as Type 24 High-Capacity staples in the same two sizes. Paper insertion depth is 2.32 inches, which limits how far the staple can reach from the edge of the material.

Sheet capacity per staple size

Maximum stapling capacity is 45 sheets when using 5/16" staples; with 1/4" staples the practical limit is 20 sheets. Buyers who regularly staple thicker stacks will need the longer leg length to reach the rated capacity.

Questions about this item

Should I pick 1/4" or 5/16" staples for this R81000A3?

Use 1/4" staples for up to 20 sheets and 5/16" staples for up to 45 sheets; both lengths work in the magazine.

What does the 45-sheet rating mean when I load the plier?

It is the maximum with 5/16" staples; typical office paper staples cleanly up to that thickness, while heavier stock reduces the practical limit.

What staple types fit this model and what does the 2.32" throat depth allow?

It accepts type 26 standard and type 24 high-capacity staples in 1/4" and 5/16" lengths; the 2.32" throat depth lets you reach farther from the edge.
