Verify your Wheelwriter model before ordering

The printwheel fits Wheelwriter 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 6 Series II, 10, 15, 30, 35, 50, 70, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 5000 and 7000. Confirm the exact model number on your machine to ensure correct installation.

Mechanical operation with no electrical draw

The printwheel is a passive type element that adds no power consumption, heat or fan noise to the typewriter. Normal use produces only the sound of the print hammer striking the ribbon and paper.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Rarotype Light Italic 12 English Printwheel?

The box contains the printwheel itself. No additional tools, ribbons, or mounting hardware are included, so the existing typewriter ribbon and platen are used as-is.

Which printwheel version should I choose for my IBM Wheelwriter model?

This Light Italic 12 English printwheel fits every IBM Wheelwriter listed — models 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 6 Series II, 10, 15, 30, 35, 50, 70, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 5000 and 7000 — so select it if your machine is on that list.

What does the 12 in Light Italic 12 mean when the printwheel is installed?

The figure 12 denotes a 12-pitch font, producing 12 characters per inch for a narrower, more compact typewritten line than a 10-pitch wheel.
