Razer Kraken V4 X wired headset

The Razer Kraken V4 X is a wired gaming headset built around 40 mm TriForce drivers and a USB-C connection with a 5.91 ft convertible cable that also fits Type-A ports. It weighs 1.46 lb and uses over-ear memory-foam cushions for passive sound isolation. The retractable HyperClear cardioid microphone and 7.1 surround processing target competitive gamers who want one headset for PC, Mac, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam Deck.

Upgrade from basic stereo headsets

Moving from a simple two-channel headset to this model adds 7.1 surround sound and a dedicated cardioid microphone that retracts when not needed. The jump is worth it when positional audio cues matter in competitive titles or when clear voice pickup is required for team chat. Buyers who need wireless freedom or active noise cancellation will not find those features here.

Steady performance in long sessions

The 32 ohm impedance and 96 decibel sensitivity keep volume consistent during extended play without demanding extra amplification. Passive isolation from the close-fitting earcups maintains a stable noise floor, while the retractable mic stays out of the way when muted. Chroma RGB lighting runs continuously from the USB connection without affecting audio output.

Questions about this item

What USB port does the Type C connector on this headset plug into?

The headset uses a USB Type C connector and includes a convertible cable that also provides a Type A plug for ports without Type C.

How do you position the retractable HyperClear cardioid microphone for the best voice pickup?

Extend the microphone fully and place the tip near the corner of your mouth; the cardioid pattern captures voice while rejecting side noise.

When should the hybrid fabric and leatherette memory foam ear cushions be replaced?

Replace the cushions when the foam no longer springs back or the covering shows cracks, which reduces isolation and comfort.
