Dual NVMe PCIe Adapter with ASM2812

This dual-slot adapter uses the ASMedia ASM2812 chipset to add two M.2 NVMe drives through a single PCIe x8 or x16 slot. It works without motherboard bifurcation because each drive receives its own PCIe 3.1 x4 lane allocation. Supported form factors are 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110.

Tool-free install, no heatsinks allowed

The card drops into any PCIe 3.0, 2.0 or 1.0 x8/x16 slot and secures with a standard bracket screw. Each SSD mounts with the supplied standoffs and screws; no extra cables are required. Drives with integrated heatsinks will not fit because the two M.2 sockets are spaced tightly together. If the operating system does not detect a drive, download the SSD vendor's driver.

For M-key NVMe expansion on older boards

Builders who need two NVMe drives on a platform lacking native M.2 slots or bifurcation support will benefit. The adapter only accepts M-key NVMe SSDs; SATA-based B-key or B+M-key drives are not compatible. Systems that cannot boot from NVMe will not be able to use an attached drive as the OS volume. Hardware RAID is not supported.
