RODE Microphone VideoMic Pro 14db 3.5mm with Table Top Tripod Kit

On-Camera Shotgun Microphone

The RODE VideoMic Pro is a directional on-camera microphone built for camcorders, DSLR cameras and portable audio recorders. It uses a 1/2" condenser capsule to deliver broadcast-quality audio through a 3.5 mm minijack that outputs a mono signal to both channels. The kit includes a table-top tripod and a 10' TRS extension cable for flexible positioning. Power is supplied by a single 9V battery, which is not included.

Rycote Lyre Shock Mount and Supercardioid Pattern

An integrated Rycote Lyre-based shock mounting system isolates the capsule and electronics from vibration and handling noise during use. The supercardioid polar pattern minimises surrounding sound, focusing capture on the subject directly in front of the camera. This makes the microphone suitable for quiet indoor scenes as well as busier outdoor environments. Robust materials are used throughout to withstand rigorous daily use.

Low Self-Noise Upgrade for Content Creators

With a self-noise figure of just 14db, this microphone provides a clear step up from built-in camera microphones that often introduce audible hiss. The jump is worth it for creators who need clean primary or reference audio without running a separate recorder. Buyers who require XLR connectivity or phantom power will need a different solution, as this unit operates solely via the 3.5 mm plug-in power connection.
