Product Identity

The RUCKUS WIRELESS 10G-SFPP-LR-S8 is a 10 GigE SFP+ transceiver module designed for enterprise and service provider networks. It provides a standard temperature optical interface for extending 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over single-mode fibre links.

Thermals Power Noise

Built for standard operating temperature ranges, the module maintains reliable optical performance without active cooling components. Its passive design ensures silent operation and low power consumption suitable for dense switch or router chassis deployments.

Build Integration

The SFP+ form factor allows hot-swappable installation into compatible network equipment ports, freeing fixed copper ports for other uses. It requires matching single-mode fibre patch cables and a host device with an open SFP+ cage supporting 10 GigE LR optics.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 10G-SFPP-LR-S8 transceiver into a SFP+ port without damaging the latch?

Align the module with the cage, insert until the latch clicks, then secure the bail latch; the step often missed is removing the dust plugs from both the module and the port before insertion.

What maintenance will the 10G-SFPP-LR-S8 need during its service life?

Periodically inspect and clean the optical interfaces with a lint-free swab and approved solvent; replace the module if link errors increase or optical power drops below the receiver sensitivity threshold.

What is the first limit reached when the 10G-SFPP-LR-S8 runs continuously at full 10 GigE throughput?

The standard-temperature rating means the internal laser driver hits its thermal ceiling first, so sustained line-rate traffic in a poorly ventilated chassis will trigger thermal throttling or link loss before any other limit.
