Converts a standard Molex connector to a floppy-drive power plug, adding a 200 mm reach for legacy drives or CF-card adapters
This 200 mm cable converts a standard 4-pin Molex connector from a power supply into a 4-pin ATA female plug used by floppy drives and compact-flash adapters. It targets builders maintaining vintage DOS or Windows 98 systems, soft-router appliances, or industrial hardware that still relies on legacy power interfaces. The short length keeps cable routing tidy inside compact chassis.
The male Molex end plugs into any existing PSU peripheral lead while the female 4P ATA end mates with the small floppy-style power header on the target device. No active electronics are present so the adapter simply passes 5 V and 12 V rails through unchanged. Polarity follows the industry-standard Molex-to-floppy pin mapping.
One Molex connector on the PSU is consumed to provide a single legacy power tap, freeing the motherboard’s sole floppy header for other uses or eliminating the need for a second floppy lead. The 200 mm reach suits typical ATX or micro-ATX layouts without excess slack. Systems requiring multiple floppy-style devices will need additional adapters or a PSU with native floppy connectors.

The 200mm run connects a standard Molex output from the PSU to a small 4P floppy-style connector, giving enough slack for a typical ATX chassis without excess cable clutter.
The small 4P female end matches the legacy floppy-drive power pinout, so it can only supply the 5 V and 12 V rails that older floppy drives, CF-card adapters or certain expansion cards expect.
It requires a free standard 4-pin Molex socket on the power supply and a matching 4-pin floppy-style header on the target device; no brackets or screws are involved.
