Four-way PWM fan splitter

This 27 cm adapter turns a single motherboard 4-pin header into four fan connections. Builders who need more cooling headers than the board provides can run up to four PWM or 3-pin fans from one socket. The cable is intended for internal case routing in standard desktop builds. It is not suited for external devices or non-PWM voltage-controlled fans.

Sustained-load behaviour

All four fans receive the same PWM duty cycle from the motherboard, so speed scales together under continuous thermal load. Only the first connector carries a tachometer wire; the remaining three report no RPM data to the BIOS or monitoring software. This avoids signal conflicts but means the system cannot verify individual fan health during long sessions. The splitter itself adds no active regulation or current limiting.
