PCIe x1 to 4-port USB 3.0 adapter

This internal riser card converts a single PCI Express x1 slot into four USB 3.0 ports for additional connectivity. It fits x4, x8 and x16 slots as well, drawing power directly from the PCIe bus. A built-in LED shows the operating status at a glance. The board works with DOS, Linux and Windows XP through Windows 10.

Four USB 3.0 ports from one slot

The card adds four USB 3.0 ports, each running at the 3.0 specification speed for fast data transfers. Total bandwidth is shared across the single x1 upstream link, so sustained throughput on all four ports simultaneously will be limited by that link. It suits peripherals such as external drives, capture devices or multiple sensors that do not all saturate the bus at once.

Upgrade from a single USB header

This adapter replaces a motherboard with only one spare USB header or a case front panel that lacks enough ports. The jump is worthwhile when you need several high-speed USB devices internally and have a free PCIe x1 or larger slot. It does not suit builds that require more than four ports or need dedicated bandwidth per device.
