Cordless grass shear shrubber

The Ryobi P2900B ONE+ is an 18 V battery-powered tool designed for light garden shaping. It suits homeowners who want a compact, lightweight trimmer for grass edges and small shrubs without managing a petrol engine or extension cord. The overmold handle adds comfort during extended use.

Upgrade from manual shears

This model replaces hand-operated grass shears and hedge clippers when the job covers more ground than scissors can handle comfortably. The jump is worth it for gardeners who trim regularly and want to reduce wrist fatigue while keeping a tool that stores easily in a shed.

8 in cutting width and 3.2 lb weight

The 8 in alloy-steel blade handles thin grass and soft woody stems up to the stated cutting width in a single pass. Dense hedges, thick branches or large lawn areas will exceed its capacity, requiring a more powerful hedge trimmer or walk-behind mower instead.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions I need to store the 16.06in long grass shear?

The tool measures 16.06in long, 6.93in wide and 4.73in high, so allow at least that much shelf or hook space.

How do I attach the 8in alloy-steel blade and what step is often missed?

Align the blade with the drive shaft, push until the locking tab clicks, then tighten the retaining bolt — skipping the bolt leaves the blade loose.

When should I replace the 8in cutting blade on this 3.2lb shrubber?

Replace the alloy-steel blade when teeth show visible nicks, cutting requires extra force, or the 8in cutting width leaves ragged edges.
