2-in-1 Trimmer & Edger

The WORX WG163.9 converts from a string trimmer to a lawn edger in seconds without tools. It runs on the 20V Power Share platform, though batteries and charger are sold separately. The unit weighs 4.63 pounds and measures 14.33in W x 12.83in H x 9.06in D.

Sustained Cutting Behaviour

The Command Feed spool system advances line only when the user presses the button, preventing automatic feeding from wasting string during long sessions. A 90° pivoting head keeps the cutting plane consistent on slopes. The telescopic shaft and 7-position adjustable handle reduce operator fatigue over extended use.

Battery Platform Constraint

This tool requires a WORX 20V battery and compatible charger, neither of which are included in the box. Buyers who do not already own the 20V ecosystem must purchase power components separately, adding to the total investment.

Questions about this item

How much noise and vibration should I expect from the 12-inch cutting head during extended use?

The 4.63-pound weight keeps vibration low, and the battery-powered motor runs quieter than petrol equivalents, so all-day trimming stays comfortable.

Which 20V battery and charger do I need to buy separately for this trimmer to operate?

Any WORX 20V Power Share battery and compatible charger will power the WG163.9; the tool ships without either.

Will the 90° pivoting head and telescopic shaft still work smoothly if I keep my older WORX 20V batteries?

Yes, the pivoting head, Command Feed spool and height-adjustable shaft function identically with any WORX 20V Power Share pack.
