Portable USB-C Audio Adapter

The SABRENT AU-PACM converts a USB-C port into a 3.5 mm stereo output and mono microphone input. It supports 24-bit audio at up to 96 KHz for clear playback and recording on laptops, tablets and smartphones. The compact dongle suits mobile professionals and creators who need reliable wired audio without a built-in jack.

Sustained-Use Behaviour

The adapter draws minimal power while maintaining stable 16-bit or 24-bit streams during long calls, streams or recording sessions. An integrated USB-C PD 3.0 input accepts up to 100 W pass-through so the host device charges continuously without interrupting the audio path. No driver installation is required on Windows 10, Windows 11, Android or iOS.

Upgrade Context

This replaces a missing or faulty onboard 3.5 mm port on modern USB-C only devices. The jump is worth it when you need simultaneous charging and wired headset use, or when the internal audio codec adds noise or lacks microphone support. It does not add surround channels, digital optical output or hardware DSP features.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter get warm or draw noticeable power when I use it for hours of calls?

The unit is designed as a low‑power portable sound card, so it adds minimal heat and barely affects battery life during extended sessions.

My laptop only has a USB‑C port — will this let me plug in a 3.5 mm headset and still charge at 100 W?

Yes, the built‑in USB‑C PD 3.0 pass‑through accepts up to 100 W while the 3.5 mm jack handles stereo output and mono mic input.

Will the 24‑bit 96 kHz DAC work properly with my older USB‑C phone that only supports 16‑bit audio?

The adapter negotiates the highest sample rate both sides support, so it will fall back to 16‑bit on legacy devices while still delivering stereo output and mic input.
