Nesting Rectangle Desk 28" W

The Safco 1227GR is a new nesting rectangle desk built for classrooms and media centres. Its powder-coated steel frame supports a high-pressure pebble gray laminate top measuring 28 inches wide by 22.25 inches deep. A one-handed flip mechanism lets the surface fold up for compact storage.

Suits flexible learning spaces.

This desk suits teachers who need quick reconfiguration and compact nesting with five inches between surfaces. Four casters, two locking, allow easy movement across rooms. Buyers wanting a permanent, non-mobile workstation or a surface larger than 28 inches wide should look elsewhere.

200 lb weight capacity decides fit

The desk is rated for up to 200 lbs distributed load. Verify that your intended equipment and materials stay within this limit before purchase. Assembly is required, and the unit ships as a single desk.

Questions about this item

How much weight can the 1227GR desk hold before the top starts to bow?

The work surface is rated for up to 200 lbs of evenly distributed load, which is the structural limit you will reach first under sustained use.

Does the powder-coated steel frame or the laminate top get hot or noisy after a full day of classes?

The desk has no powered components, so it produces no fan noise and generates no heat beyond normal room temperature.

What existing furniture or fixtures must be in the room for this desk to function as intended?

Only a level floor is required; the four casters, two of which lock, let the desk roll and stay put without any wall mounts or additional hardware.
