Pentagon Shape and 45 gal Capacity

The Safco 9486BL is a free-standing polyethylene receptacle designed for indoor and outdoor waste collection. Its five-sided form and black UV-protectant finish suit commercial entrances, parks and breakrooms that need a durable, weather-resistant bin.

Open Top and Telescoping Base Under Load

The 9.50 in. opening accepts bulky items without a lid to lift, while the telescoping base locks the liner in place so it cannot slip during heavy daily use. Recessed bottom construction keeps the container stable on uneven surfaces and prevents tipping when full.

Replaces Round Bins Needing Bag Security

Facilities upgrading from open cylinders that let liners fall in will gain the concealed bag system and pentagon footprint that fits corners more efficiently. The jump is worth it when UV exposure cracks lesser plastics or when bag retrieval slows cleaning crews.

Questions about this item

How much heat builds up around the 45 gal polyethylene body when it sits in full sun all day?

The UV-protectant finish on the black polyethylene reduces heat absorption, so the container stays cooler than uncoated plastic during extended outdoor exposure.

Does the telescoping base that hides the bag require any separate mounting hardware or floor anchors to work?

No, the receptacle is free-standing and the telescoping base secures the liner internally without bolts, anchors or additional parts.

Will the 9.50 in waste opening accept the same liner bags used with older 45 gal round containers?

Standard 45 gal liner bags fit the opening; the pentagon shape and recessed bottom simply hold the bag in place via the telescoping base.
