Compact Clear Storage Bin

The Samsill FlipTop bin is a small plastic container with a hinged lid that stays attached. Its transparent base and lid let users see contents without opening it. The unit measures 7.85 by 6.5 by 4.5 inches and weighs .3 pounds. It is designed for desk, shelf or classroom organisation.

Replaces Loose Boxes And Bags

This bin upgrades from disposable bags or mismatched boxes that lose lids and cannot stack securely. The hinged lid prevents misplacement while the stackable design builds vertical order. The jump is worth it when small items like CDs, 4 by 6 photos or craft supplies need frequent access and visible sorting.

Limits Of The Hinged Plastic Format

The fixed 7.85 by 6.5 inch footprint limits what fits inside; larger papers or bulky tools will not sit flat. The single .3 pound weight suits light loads but offers no reinforcement for heavy stacking. The clear plastic shows contents yet scratches over time, reducing long-term visibility.

Questions about this item

Will the 7.85 x 6.5 x 4.5 in bin fit on a standard 12 in deep shelf?

Yes, the 7.85 in length and 6.5 in width sit comfortably on a 12 in deep shelf with room to spare.

Does the hinged lid snap shut or just rest in place?

The lid is hinged and flips closed; it stays shut by friction rather than a positive latch.

Can the clear plastic base be washed in a dishwasher?

Hand-wash with mild soap; the thin .5 in walls and hinged lid are not rated for dishwasher heat.
