Scapa 174 Double-Sided Cloth Carpet Tape 36 yds

Woven cloth carpet tape for aggressive bonding

Scapa 174 is a double-sided cotton cloth tape coated with aggressive natural rubber adhesive on both sides. It comes on a three-inch core with an easy-release polyethylene liner. The woven construction delivers high shear resistance while removing cleanly from most surfaces without residue.

Limits of rubber adhesive on cloth backing

Natural rubber adhesive bonds quickly to carpet, concrete and many smooth surfaces but can lose strength under sustained heat or UV exposure. The cloth carrier resists tearing during application yet remains hand-tearable. Long dwell times or chemical cleaners on the substrate may still cause surface damage on removal.

Model 174 identifies the adhesive system

The 174 designation marks this specific natural rubber formulation on woven cotton cloth. Buyers who need a different adhesive chemistry, a film carrier instead of cloth, or a lower-tack removable tape should select another product. Testing on an inconspicuous area is always advised before full application.
