Two-pack of 8-inch multi-purpose scissors

This set contains two pairs of Scotch 1428-2 scissors measuring 27.2034 centimetres in overall length. Each pair features straight stainless steel blades with a red and grey soft comfort grip. The package weighs 0.168 kilograms and is designed for everyday cutting tasks at home, school or the office.

Suited for general cutting and ambidextrous users

The scissors handle paper, light cardboard, fabric and craft materials with equal ease for right- or left-handed operation. Buyers who need heavy-duty shears for thick cardboard, leather or wire should look at something else. The straight blade profile also limits precision for intricate detail work or curved patterns.

Consistent cutting feel over extended sessions

The stainless steel blades retain their edge through repeated use on standard office and craft materials. The soft comfort grip reduces hand fatigue during long cutting sessions such as scrapbooking or bulk envelope opening. No non-stick coating is present, so adhesive residue from tape or labels may accumulate on the blades over time.

Questions about this item

What surface should I keep available for these 27.2034 cm scissors to cut against?

Use a stable tabletop or cutting mat; the stainless steel blades slice paper, light cardboard and fabric cleanly when the material lies flat.

Will the soft comfort grip on the 1428 model feel different from the all-metal handles on my older shears?

Yes, the red and gray soft-touch grip reduces hand fatigue and stays comfortable during long cutting sessions.

How can I confirm both pairs are cutting straight after I start using them?

Make a test cut on copy paper; each pair should produce a clean, straight edge without tearing or snagging.
