Questions about this item

How quickly does the USB 3.0 interface reach its speed ceiling when writing large files continuously?

The USB 3.0 port provides SuperSpeed transfer rates, but the internal 2.5" mechanical drive becomes the bottleneck during sustained writes, so speeds will settle at conventional hard-drive throughput.

Does the drive become noisy or hot when left running all day?

With no fan and only passive cooling through the compact 4.60" x 3.15" x 0.78" enclosure, the drive stays silent but can feel warm to the touch during extended operation.

What must my computer already have for this drive to work at USB 3.0 speeds?

A SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port is required for full performance; the drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports at reduced speed.
