Photoelectric proximity sensor detects objects up to 45 mm with PNP dark-switching output and IP67-rated metal housing
The Sick VTF18-3P5240 is a cylindrical photoelectric proximity sensor designed for automation and control tasks. It detects objects using an infrared LED and provides a PNP dark-switching output for direct integration into 10 V DC to 30 V DC control circuits.
Operation requires a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply with ripple below 10 %. The sensor reliably detects targets from 0 mm to 45 mm, with a maximum sensing range of 50 mm, and responds within 2 ms.
The 45 mm sensing range suits close-range presence verification on conveyors or machine frames. An IP67-rated brass and plastic housing withstands temperatures from –25 °C to +70 °C, while the M12 connector ensures secure wiring in vibration-prone environments.
