Two-pole 50 A breaker rated 120/240 V AC with a 22 kA interrupting capacity for Siemens P1 panelboards
This Siemens BL Series miniature circuit breaker provides 50 A, 2-pole protection for 120/240 V AC single-phase panels. It mounts by bolt-on connection and carries a 22 kA interrupting rating at 120/240 V AC. The toggle actuator gives clear on/off indication for residential and light-commercial load centres.
Electricians fitting Siemens P1 panelboards will find this breaker a direct fit for the BL bus. The 8 AWG minimum wire size suits typical branch circuits up to 50 A. Buyers needing a plug-on variant, a DC-rated device, or a frame larger than 125 A should select a different series.
The 22 kA AIR rating is the single figure that determines whether this breaker meets the available fault current at the panel. If the system calculation demands a higher interrupting capacity, this model cannot be used and a higher-rated frame must be specified.

The breaker bolts directly to the P1 panel bus using the supplied lug terminals; the step often missed is torquing the lugs to the panel manufacturer's specification to ensure a solid connection.
Periodically exercise the toggle actuator to prevent mechanical binding and inspect the lug terminals for signs of overheating or corrosion; re-torque if the panel schedule calls for it.
The breaker is rated to safely interrupt up to 22 kA at 120/240 V AC; available fault current above that level exceeds its interrupting capacity and requires a higher-rated device.
