  • 10 kA interrupting capacity clears faults safely
  • Compact 3 × 2.3 × 2.9 in frame saves panel space

15 A Three-Pole Miniature Breaker

The SQUARE D QOB315 is a bolt-on miniature circuit breaker rated at 15 amperes for three-phase 120/240 V AC systems. It fits QO-series panelboards and carries a 10 kA interrupting rating at that voltage. The paddle actuator provides manual switching and trip indication.

10 kA Interrupting Rating at 120/240 V AC

The decisive specification is the 10 kA AIR rating at 120/240 V AC. This value determines whether the breaker can safely clear the available fault current in the installation. Verify the panelboard's short-circuit current rating before selecting this device.

Suits QO-Series Panels Needing 15 A Three-Pole

This breaker suits electricians and maintenance teams wiring three-phase loads into Square D NQOD or QO load centres. It does not suit panels requiring a higher interrupting rating, a different mounting style, or a pole count other than three.

Questions about this item

How much fault current can the 10 kA interrupting rating actually stop inside a panel?

The breaker will safely interrupt up to 10 kA of short-circuit current at 120/240 V AC, which is the maximum fault level it is rated to clear in a QO panelboard.

What does the bolt-on mounting style mean for installation in a QO load center?

Bolt-on mounting secures the breaker directly to the panel bus with screws, so it fits only Square D QO or NQOD panelboards that accept bolt-on QOB series breakers.

Will the 3-inch by 2.3-inch by 2.9-inch frame fit in a standard 100 A QO enclosure?

Yes, the 3 in length, 2.3 in width and 2.9 in depth match the QO 100 A frame size, so it installs in any compatible QO or NQOD panelboard without modification.
