Connects 2.5"/3.5" SATA, 2.5"/3.5" IDE and 5.25" optical drives to USB 3.0 or USB-C for data recovery and backup
This adapter connects 2.5 and 3.5 SATA or IDE drives plus 5.25 optical drives to a computer through USB 3.0 and USB C ports. It is built for technicians and home users who need to recover files, clone disks or back up data from legacy storage. The kit supports three drives at once for efficient batch work.
The unit has no fan so it runs silently during normal file transfers. A 12V 2A power brick and a 4 pin cable are included for 3.5 and 5.25 drives that need external power. 2.5 SATA drives draw power directly from the host port without the brick.
The package supplies a 1 metre USB 3.0 cable a USB C adapter the power adapter the 4 pin power cable and a printed manual. The USB C adapter lets the same cable work with modern laptops that lack type A ports. The manual explains jumper settings for IDE master mode.

Connect the 12V 2A power adapter and 4-pin power cable to the drive, then plug the USB cable into your computer. The step people forget is turning on the power switch on the IDE adapter only after everything is connected.
The 12V 2A power adapter and the 1 metre USB 3.0 cable are the parts most likely to wear out. Keep the original cable; longer or lower-quality cables can cause the drive to not be recognised.
The USB 3.0 interface caps transfer speed at 5 Gbps. Sustained throughput will also depend on the drive's own speed and whether you use the supplied 1 metre cable rather than a longer one.
