Interior File Folders for Hanging Systems

Smead 10243 interior folders are sized to fit inside standard letter-size hanging files without obscuring the hanging folder tabs. They are sold in a 100-count box for offices that need bulk organisation. The black colour provides a uniform look inside the drawer.

1/3-Cut Top Tab with Hidden Profile

The single-ply 1/2-inch tab sits in a 1/3-cut position so multiple folders can stagger tabs within one hanging folder. When the interior folder is returned to the drawer the tab is hidden, preventing interference with the vinyl tabs on the hanging folder. This specific tab geometry is the detail that decides compatibility.

11 Point Stock with Scored Expansion

Each folder uses 11 point stock with a 3/4-inch scored expansion to accommodate growing files. Rounded top corners on front and back panels reduce snagging when folders are pulled. The undercut front panel allows quick visual checks of contents without removing the folder.

Questions about this item

What does the 11 point stock mean when the folder is inside a hanging file?

The 11 point stock provides a rigid single-ply tab and body that resists bending while staying thin enough to slide cleanly behind the hanging folder's vinyl tabs.

How does the 1/3 cut top tab work with the hanging folder's index tabs?

The 1/2 inch high tab sits below the hanging folder's vinyl tabs so it never covers them, and the three staggered positions let you stack several interior folders in one hanger.

Will the 3/4 inch scored expansion still fit inside a standard hanging folder?

Yes, the expansion crease is designed to open while the folder remains fully nested inside the hanging file without pushing the hanger rails apart.
