Pressboard fastener folders for letter documents

Smead 14936 folders are made from 100% recycled pressboard in bright red and hold letter-size sheets with a two-inch expansion. Each folder uses two SafeShield bonded fasteners that secure papers without sharp edges. The box contains twenty-five folders with assorted-position top tabs for flexible indexing.

Offices needing secure, expandable filing

These folders suit teams that must keep thick project files together and want fastener security without metal prongs. The 25-count box supports high-volume daily use. Buyers who need hanging-folder hooks, classification dividers or a different tab cut should look at other configurations.

Two-inch expansion capacity

The two-inch expansion depth determines how many sheets each folder can hold before it becomes overstuffed. Match this figure to your typical file thickness to decide if the product fits your workflow.

Questions about this item

How many documents can the 2-inch expansion hold in a standard filing cabinet?

The folder expands to 2 inches, so capacity depends on paper thickness; a typical letter-size ream is about 2 inches, giving a rough guide for maximum fill.

What does the 1/3 cut tab layout mean for drawer organisation?

The 1/3 cut gives three staggered tab positions — left, centre, right — letting you rotate labels across the drawer for quick visual scanning.

Will the SafeShield bonded fasteners accept standard two-hole punched sheets without tearing?

Yes, the two 2S fasteners are designed for standard two-hole punched letter paper and the bonded construction resists tearing under normal use.
