Letter-size pressboard folders with 3" expansion

Smead 15005 folders are made from 100% recycled pressboard and expand to hold three inches of documents. Each box contains 25 folders with 1/3-cut top tabs in assorted positions. Two embedded fasteners per folder secure punched papers, while two pockets store non-puncheable items.

Offices managing bulky project or legal files

These folders suit teams that need durable, high-capacity storage for growing paper trails such as real estate transactions or loan files. The 30% post-consumer and 70% pre-consumer recycled content appeals to environmentally conscious buyers. Buyers who need built-in dividers or a smaller expansion profile should look at other filing products.

3-inch accordion gusset expansion

The tear-resistant accordion pleats determine how much material each folder can hold as projects grow. This single specification decides whether the folder matches the volume of paperwork you must keep together.

Questions about this item

What size filing cabinet or drawer do these 3-inch expansion folders require?

The folders are letter size and expand to 3 inches, so they fit standard letter-width drawers with at least 3 inches of front-to-back clearance.

How do I fasten documents into the two embedded fasteners without misaligning the holes?

Align the pre-punched sheets with the two fasteners on the inside front and back panels, then press each prong through the holes and fold the prongs flat to secure the stack.

When will the 100% recycled pressboard or the dove-grey spine tape need replacing under heavy use?

The 25-point pressboard and tear-resistant gussets are built for frequent handling; replace a folder only when the fasteners no longer close or the gusset seams split.
