Yellow End-Tab Folders for Open-Shelf Systems

These Smead 25910 folders use 11 point colored stock in yellow for letter-size documents. The straight-cut end tab measures 1/2 inch wide and carries the Shelf-Master reinforcement for frequent handling. Each box contains 100 folders scored for 3/4 inch expansion.

Replaces Worn Standard Tabs in High-Traffic Filing

The reinforced tab resists tearing where ordinary folders fail after repeated pulls from open shelves. The upgrade is worth it when color-coding by category — such as insurance type or patient status — cuts retrieval time. Labels are sold separately.

Holds Shape Under Daily Shelf Load

The 11 point stock maintains rigidity when folders sit tightly packed on open shelves. Expansion scoring lets each folder grow to 3/4 inch without distorting the reinforced tab. Wood fiber comes from a certified managed forest.

Questions about this item

What size folder and tab width does the Smead 25910 require for shelf filing?

These folders are letter size with a straight-cut tab that measures 1/2 inch wide, designed for open shelf filing systems.

How do you attach labels to the reinforced end tab, and what is the common mistake?

Apply adhesive labels directly onto the 1/2 inch reinforced tab; the frequent error is placing the label on the folder body instead of the tab, which hides it in shelf view.

When will the 11 point stock or reinforced tab need replacing under heavy use?

The 11 point colored stock and reinforced tab are built for frequent handling; replace individual folders when the tab tears or the expansion score no longer holds its 3/4 inch fold.
