Heavy-duty hanging file folders

These Smead TUFF hanging file folders are built for offices that handle thick project files, manuals and booklets. Each box supplies 18 letter-size folders made from 14 pt. steel gray paper stock. Reinforced rods are 40 % stronger than standard designs to resist bending and tearing. The folders contain 10 % total recycled content and are made in the USA.

4-inch expansion capacity

The single specification that determines fit is the 4-inch expansion, which lets each folder hold bulky document sets without splitting. Letter-size dimensions of 9.25 by 11.75 inches match standard hanging rails, and the oversized 1/3-cut tabs slide to the exact position you need. Replaceable white tab inserts are included for quick relabelling.

Lightweight paper construction

At 4.37 pounds per 18-folder box the folders add negligible weight to a filing cabinet and produce no operational noise. The 0.125-inch material thickness keeps drawers moving smoothly while the reinforced rods maintain shape under load. No power or cooling considerations apply to this passive paper product.
