Hanging File Frame for Legal Drawers

This pair of steel frames converts existing file drawers into a hanging folder system. Each frame adjusts from 23 to 27 inches long by snapping off scored rails at half-inch increments. Heavy-gauge steel construction supports heavy loads while smooth finished edges protect folders.

Suits Cabinets Needing Legal Conversion

Ideal for offices updating older lateral or vertical drawers to accept legal-size hanging folders. The adjustable length fits a range of drawer depths without tools. Not suitable for drawers shorter than 23 inches or for letter-size only filing systems.

Capacity Handles Full Legal Drawers

Frames span the full 23 to 27 inch range to accommodate standard legal drawer lengths. Heavy-gauge steel withstands the weight of fully loaded hanging folders. Runs out if drawer length exceeds 27 inches or falls below the 23 inch minimum.

Questions about this item

Do I need an existing file drawer to use the 64873 frame?

Yes, the frame is designed to fit inside a standard legal-size file drawer with side rails that snap off to match lengths from 23 to 27 inches.

Will the 64873 frame work with my older metal filing cabinet?

The scored rails adjust in half-inch increments to fit most older legal drawers between 23 and 27 inches, and the heavy-gauge steel rails have smooth edges to prevent snagging.

How can I verify the 64873 frame is correctly installed?

After snapping the rails to the drawer length, the frame should sit level, the side rails should lock securely, and hanging folders should slide freely on the smooth steel rails.
