What this file delivers

The Smead 70390 is a legal-size expanding file with twelve monthly pockets covering January through December. It is built for offices or home users who need a single, durable organiser for a year of documents.

How it holds up in daily use

Double-thick front and back panels with a heavy reinforcement liner board give the file structural rigidity. Tyvek reinforcement at the top and bottom of each gusset resists tearing, and the gussets extend twice as far into the panels as standard files for lasting expansion capacity.

What to verify before ordering

Confirm that your paperwork is legal size (15 inches wide by 10 inches high) so it fits the pockets. Check that an elastic cord closure meets your security preference compared with other fastening styles. Ensure the monthly index layout matches your filing system rather than an alphabetic or daily alternative.

Questions about this item

Will the elastic cord closure stay secure when the 12 pockets are fully loaded for daily use?

The elastic cord closure is designed to keep the flap shut even when all 12 pockets are filled with legal-size documents.

What size documents fit inside the 15 by 10 inch pockets without folding?

The pockets are sized for legal-format sheets measuring 15 inches wide by 10 inches high, so standard legal pages slide in flat.

Can the monthly index tabs align with a 1-to-31 daily filing system I already use?

The tabs are preprinted January through December only, so they do not match a 1-to-31 daily index.
