Expansion drop-front file pockets

These poly file pockets are designed for high-volume paper storage in office and home filing systems. Each box contains four pockets built from heavyweight polypropylene that resists tearing and water damage. The 3-1/2 inch expansion capacity accommodates thick project files, while the drop-front panel allows quick retrieval without removing the pocket from the drawer. Rounded top corners reduce snagging on adjacent folders.

Suited for colour-coded archival filing

The acid-free, archival-quality material protects documents from deterioration over time, making these pockets suitable for long-term record keeping. The matching red gussets and bright hue support colour-coded organisation across departments or categories. Buyers who need a smaller expansion depth or a different tab style should consider alternative configurations. Those requiring individual pockets rather than a four-pack will need to source them separately.

3-1/2 inch expansion capacity

The single specification that determines fit is the 3-1/2 inch expansion, which dictates how much paperwork each pocket can hold. This measurement must match the drawer space and volume requirements of the filing system in use. The straight tab aligns with standard letter-size hanging rails, and the poly construction ensures durability under frequent handling. No other dimension or feature overrides this capacity for selection purposes.

Questions about this item

How do I load documents into the drop-front pockets without the papers catching on the rounded corners?

Insert paperwork from the top opening first, then lower the front panel; the rounded front and back corners guide sheets smoothly so they do not snag on the poly edges.

Will the red polypropylene material yellow or become brittle over time?

The acid-free, archival-quality poly is formulated to resist yellowing and brittleness, so the pockets stay flexible and colour-fast for long-term storage.

At what point does the 3-1/2 inch expansion gusset reach its limit during daily filing?

The gusset stretches to a full 3-1/2 inches; once that depth is filled the pocket will not expand further and additional sheets must go into a new pocket.
