SDI Signal Distribution

The SMUGDESK 1×4 SDI splitter extender takes a single SDI input and duplicates it across four identical SDI outputs, allowing one source to drive multiple displays simultaneously. It handles SDSDI, HDSDI and 3GSDI professional video formats and operates without drivers or configuration. The unit is built for broadcast, surveillance and multi-screen installations where synchronised distribution is required.

Suitability and Limits

This splitter suits technicians who need to feed four SDI monitors, projectors or recorders from one camera or playback device in live production, CCTV or conference environments. It does not convert the signal to HDMI, DisplayPort or other interfaces, so buyers who require format conversion must look elsewhere. Set-ups needing more than four outputs or support for higher-rate SDI standards are not addressed by this device.

Deciding Specification

The defining specification is the 1-input-to-4-output SDI distribution capability across SDSDI, HDSDI and 3GSDI formats. If your workflow demands exactly four simultaneous SDI feeds from a single source at these standard rates, this adapter matches the requirement. Any need for a different output count, signal conversion or unsupported SDI rates means this is not the correct part.

Questions about this item

How does the 1×4 split affect signal quality on each SDI output?

The splitter duplicates the incoming SD-SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI stream to four outputs in real time with no added latency or degradation, so every monitor receives an identical copy of the source signal.

Which SDI standards does the BNC interface actually pass through?

The BNC ports accept and re-transmit SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI formats without conversion, so the same physical connection handles all three professional video standards.

What mounting options or physical clearances does the unit need?

The compact metal enclosure sits on a desktop or shelf and only requires space for five BNC cables plus the DC power jack; no rack ears or brackets are included.
