Dual adapter converts M.2 NVMe to SFF-8654 SAS and M.2 SATA to SATA III, supporting 2230/2242/2260/2280 drives with no cross-protocol conversion
This SMUGDESK adapter card provides two independent conversion paths for M.2 solid-state drives. One channel connects an M-Key NVMe SSD to an SFF-8654 Slimline SAS interface. The second channel connects a B or B+M Key SATA NGFF drive to a standard 22-pin SATA III port. Both channels operate on separate circuits without cross-protocol translation.
The board suits administrators adding NVMe drives to server backplanes or RAID controllers via Slimline SAS. It also suits builders connecting SATA M.2 drives to motherboard SATA ports. It does not serve buyers who want to run an NVMe drive through a SATA connection. It does not serve buyers who want to connect a SATA M.2 drive to an SFF-8654 port.
Verify your M.2 drive uses the correct key: M-Key for the NVMe-to-SAS channel, B or B+M Key for the SATA-to-SATA channel. Confirm the drive length matches 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280. Ensure your target system provides an SFF-8654 receptacle for the first channel and a free SATA III header for the second.

Yes, the NVMe channel requires a SFF-8654 Slimline SAS port on a RAID controller, server backplane or U.2 enclosure for the PCIe signal path.
No, the circuits are isolated; the SFF-8654 port only accepts M-Key NVMe SSDs and the SATA port only accepts B/B+M Key SATA SSDs.
The drive will appear in the RAID controller BIOS or OS disk manager at full PCIe speed once the Slimline SAS cable is seated.
