This SMUGDESK adapter adds twenty SATA 3.0 ports through a single PCIe slot using port multiplier technology. Each port delivers 6Gbps transfer speed for hard drives or solid state drives. The card supports system booting so it can host an operating system drive. It targets desktop, workstation and server builds that need dense storage expansion without additional controllers.

Driver-Free Installation

The card works plug and play with no driver installation required on supported operating systems. Simply insert it into an available PCIe slot and connect the drives. The main difficulty arises when the motherboard BIOS does not recognise the port multiplier, leaving some drives invisible during POST.
