7-Port PCIe USB 3.0 Front Expansion Card

The SMUGDESK card adds seven full-size USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop through a single PCIe x1 slot. It suits DIY builders, office workstations and industrial hosts that need more front-panel connections for external SSDs, webcams, printers or multiple peripherals at once.

Check your case and motherboard before ordering

Verify that a full-height PCIe bracket fits your chassis and that a free x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot is available. The board is compatible with PCIe 2.0 and 3.0 platforms and works plug-and-play on Windows 10, 11 and Linux, while Windows 7 and XP require the driver disc supplied with the card.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Multiple solid capacitors deliver a steady 5 V supply to all seven ports, preventing drop-outs when several high-power devices run together. The passive PCB has no fan, so it adds no audible noise, and power is drawn directly from the PCIe slot without extra cables.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need any extra cables or power adapters?

The package includes the expansion card, a full-height metal bracket and a driver CD; the card draws power directly from the PCIe slot so no external power adapter is required.

Which slot type should I use on my motherboard for this 7-port card?

The card fits any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and is compliant with PCIe 2.0 and 3.0, so any free slot of those sizes will work.

What does the 5 Gbps figure mean when I plug in several drives at once?

Each of the seven USB 3.0 Type-A ports supports up to 5 Gbps transfer speed and the UASP accelerated protocol, with backward compatibility to USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
