What this cable does and who it serves

This 100-foot fibre-optic DisplayPort cable carries 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz over a single run. It meets the DP 1.4 specification with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and remains backward compatible with 1080p and 1440p displays. Installers running signals through walls or across large rooms get the reach of active optics without the bulk of copper.

Sustained-load behaviour

The hybrid glass-fibre and oxygen-free copper construction keeps the 32.4 Gbps link stable over the full 30-metre length. Gold-plated connectors and a zinc-alloy shell resist oxidation so the signal stays clean during long gaming or workstation sessions. DSC 1.2 and HBR3 support maintain full colour depth at 8K 60 Hz without compression artefacts.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive optical transmission means the cable itself generates no heat and adds no audible noise to the system. Power for the active ends is drawn from the DisplayPort source and sink ports, so no external adapter is required. The slim TPE jacket routes easily through conduit and tight bends without kinking or signal loss.

Questions about this item

Does the 100-foot fiber-optic cable run warm or draw extra power during all-day 8K60 use?

The cable is passive and uses hybrid glass-fiber plus copper conductors, so it adds no measurable heat or power draw at the 32.4 Gbps rate.

My monitor only has HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 — will this DP 1.4 cable still give me 4K144?

The cable is backward compatible with DP 1.2, but 4K at 144 Hz requires both the graphics card and the monitor to support that mode over DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.4.

I keep an older 1080p60 projector — can I leave this 30-metre cable permanently installed and switch sources?

Yes, the cable supports 1080p and lower resolutions at standard refresh rates, so the legacy projector will work without re-wiring.
