100 ft DisplayPort 1.4 fiber optic cable

This 100 ft fiber optic DisplayPort 1.4 cable delivers 32.4 Gbps bandwidth for 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz. It targets gamers, home-theater users and workstation builders who need long runs without signal loss. The optical link provides lossless transmission over the full length. Mirror and extend display modes are both supported.

Directional DP connectors with optical engine

Each end carries a standard DisplayPort plug that houses the optical transceiver, so the cable is directional and must be installed source-to-display. The fiber construction removes the bulk and stiffness of copper at this distance, easing routing through walls or conduit. No external power adapter is required for the optical conversion.

Replaces copper DP cables beyond practical length

Copper DisplayPort cables typically fail at 8K bandwidth beyond a few metres; this fiber link closes that gap at 30 metres. The upgrade is worth it when the source and display are separated by more than the reliable reach of passive copper. It is not for buyers who need a short desktop cable or who require bidirectional signal flow.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the DisplayPort 1.4 fiber cable carry and what resolutions does that allow?

The cable is rated for 32.4 Gbps, which supports 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz without compression.

What physical length and connector type does the 100 FT cable use for installation?

It is a 100 FT fiber optic cable with standard DisplayPort plugs on both ends, so it fits any DP 1.4 port without adapters.

How do you install a directional fiber DisplayPort cable and which end goes where?

The connectors are marked Source and Display; plug Source into the GPU or laptop and Display into the monitor, otherwise no signal passes.
