8K@60Hz 30 m Optical Cable

The SMUGDESK DisplayPort 1.4 optical cable carries 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz over a 30 metre length. It is built for gaming rigs, home-theatre PCs or workstation extensions that need ultra-high resolution across a long run. The fibre construction keeps the signal lossless at distances where copper cables fail.

Bandwidth and distance limits

The link runs at 32.4 Gbps, the ceiling of the DisplayPort 1.4 standard, so 8K 7680×4320 at 60 Hz is the maximum resolution. At 4K the cable reaches 144 Hz, while the supplier title also lists 4K at 120 Hz as a supported mode. No higher refresh rate or resolution is possible within this bandwidth.

Replaces copper DisplayPort cables

Swap this in when a passive copper cable drops frames or cannot reach the display at 10 m or 33 ft. The jump is worth it for any install longer than 10 metres that demands 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz without signal degradation. It is not for builders who need a copper cable for shorter, cheaper runs.

Questions about this item

Which length should I pick — the 10 m or the 30 m version?

Choose the 10 m cable for shorter runs up to 33 ft; select the 30 m version when the source and display are up to 100 ft apart. Both carry the same 32.4 Gbps bandwidth.

What does the 32.4 Gbps rating mean for my 8K or 4K monitor?

It delivers the full DisplayPort 1.4 link rate, enabling 7680×4320 at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz with HDR over the entire cable length.

How does the optical DisplayPort 1.4 interface perform at 30 metres?

The fibre construction keeps the 32.4 Gbps signal lossless and latency-free at 30 m, so 8K 60 Hz and 4K 144 Hz remain stable without signal boosters.
