Converts 40-pin IDE/PATA 3.5 inch hard drives to SATA for modern desktop motherboards, includes 7-pin data cable and requires separate Molex power
This adapter converts a 40-pin IDE or PATA 3.5 inch hard drive to a standard SATA female interface. It is intended for users who need to access data from older mechanical drives on modern desktop motherboards. The package includes a 7-pin SATA data cable for direct connection to the motherboard.
The compact PCBA board plugs directly into the drive's 40-pin connector and fits easily inside a chassis. No drivers are required for the signal conversion to function. The critical step is remembering that the adapter only converts data signals; a separate 4-pin Molex power connector must still supply power to the IDE drive.
The adapter relies on the motherboard's SATA port for data transfer, so performance is bound by that interface's maximum throughput. It does not translate advanced drive features or alter the native command set of the legacy drive. Users should verify the host system supports the drive's capacity and file system before attempting data recovery.

The adapter will appear as a standard SATA device in BIOS and the operating system when the 3.5inch IDE drive is connected with both the 7pin SATA data cable and a 4pin Molex power connector.
The box includes the PCBA adapter board and a 7pin SATA data cable; you must provide a 4pin Molex power cable for the IDE hard drive.
It supports standard 3.5inch IDE PATA hard disk drives with a 40pin interface; it does not work with 2.5inch laptop drives or SATA-native drives.
