Green circuit board with silver M.2 edge connector and two Mini-SAS ports

SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK M.2 B+M Key PCIe 3.0 to 8-Port SATA 3.0 Expansion Card

SKU CH-QCJF-Y1RXW

Adds eight 6Gbps SATA ports via an M.2 B+M Key slot with dual Mini-SAS connectors and RAID support

  • M.2 B+M Key PCIe 3.0 interface enables direct motherboard installation
  • 8 SATA 3.0 ports deliver 6Gbps bandwidth for high-speed storage arrays
  • Dual Mini-SAS connectors simplify cable routing inside the chassis
  • RAID support protects data and improves read/write performance
  • Expands desktop or server capacity with eight additional drive connections

M.2 B+M Key PCIe 3.0 SATA Adapter

This expansion card converts an M.2 B+M Key slot into eight SATA 3.0 ports operating at 6Gbps. It uses dual Mini-SAS connectors to simplify cabling inside desktops and servers. The board is built to the PCIe 3.0 specification for stable data throughput. RAID support is included for redundancy or speed configurations.

Suits RAID storage builds, not boot drives

Builders adding multiple hard drives or SSDs for arrays will benefit from the eight ports and RAID capability. Systems lacking a free M.2 B+M Key slot cannot use this card. Users needing a single drive connection or a different host interface should consider other adapter types.

Eight SATA 3.0 ports via dual Mini-SAS

The decisive specification is the eight 6Gbps SATA ports presented through two Mini-SAS connectors. Verify that the host platform provides an M.2 B+M Key slot wired for PCIe 3.0 before purchase. Port count and connector style determine cable planning and drive density.

Questions about this item

What maintenance or replacement will the SMUGDESK M.2 B+M Key PCIe 3.0 to 8-Port SATA 3.0 Expansion Card need later?

The card has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance; replacement is only needed if the M.2 slot or Mini-SAS cables fail.

What limit appears first when all eight SATA 3.0 ports run at 6Gbps simultaneously?

The PCIe 3.0 x4 link caps total throughput, so sustained transfer across all drives will hit the bus ceiling before individual ports saturate.

How much heat and power does the card draw when all eight ports are active all day?

The controller draws low power and runs passively cooled; typical case airflow keeps temperatures stable without extra fans.
