Converts 2013-2015 MacBook proprietary 12+16pin SSD to standard M.2 2280 NVMe for plug-and-play storage upgrades
This adapter converts the proprietary 12+16pin SSD connector found in 2013-2015 MacBook Air and Pro models to a standard M.2 2280 NVMe slot. It fits A1465, A1466, A1502 and A1398 laptops, letting owners replace the original Apple drive with a mainstream NVMe SSD. Installation is plug-and-play with no soldering or extra drivers required. The board uses gold-plated contacts for stable signal transmission.
The adapter passes through the full PCIe NVMe interface, so a modern 2280 NVMe drive delivers its rated read and write speeds inside the vintage Mac. Boot times drop, applications launch faster and large files move quickly compared with the aging original SSD. It does not support SATA M.2, B-key or B+M-key drives, so only NVMe modules will work. The host Mac must run macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer for the NVMe drive to be recognised.
This card replaces the factory proprietary SSD in 2013-2015 MacBook Air and Pro Retina models, turning an obsolete storage format into a standard, user-serviceable NVMe slot. The jump is worthwhile when the original drive has failed, is too small or feels slow on current macOS versions. It cannot be used in MacBooks released before 2013 or after 2015, and it will not accept SATA-based M.2 modules. The original SSD can be reused in a compatible NVMe enclosure for external storage.

No published specifications for this item yet.
Yes, the converter plugs directly into the proprietary 12+16pin SSD slot on A1465, A1466, A1502 and A1398 models so the original logic board remains unchanged.
Boot into macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer; the drive should appear in Disk Utility and the system should start up and load apps noticeably faster than with the old Apple SSD.
Only the converter board is supplied; you must purchase a standard M-key 2280 NVMe PCIe SSD separately because SATA or B-key drives are not supported.
