Converts Apple SSDs to MKey

The SMUGDESK P569 adapter lets you install 12+16 pin NVMe drives from 20132017 MacBook Air and Pro laptops into a desktop MKey slot. It is built for owners of those specific Apple SSDs who want to reuse them in a standard PC.

PCIe 5.0 supports 20Gbps transfer

The card follows the PCIe 5.0 specification to deliver up to 20Gbps bandwidth through the converted connection. This single throughput figure decides whether the adapter matches the performance needs of your desktop storage workflow.

Plugandplay with no drivers needed

Installation only requires seating the card in a PCIe slot and attaching the Apple SSD. The compact PCB fits most boards, but verify physical clearance around the MKey connector before purchase. No software setup is required.

Questions about this item

What does the 20Gbps figure mean when the adapter is installed in a desktop PC?

It indicates the maximum throughput the PCIe 5.0 link can carry between the Apple SSD and the system, so real-world speeds will depend on the drive and motherboard capabilities.

Which PCIe generation does the MKey slot use, and what bandwidth ceiling does that impose?

The slot follows the PCIe 5.0 specification, capping the connection at the stated 20Gbps for a single-lane link.

What physical space and power connections does the P569 card require inside a desktop case?

It occupies a standard PCIe expansion slot and draws power from the slot itself, with no extra cables or mounting brackets needed.
