  • Compact card leaves room inside small cases
  • Driver-free plug and play for PC, server or NAS

8-Port SAS/SATA Expansion Card

This PCIe x1 expansion card adds eight independent SAS and SATA ports to a desktop PC server or NAS. It delivers 6Gb/s transfer speed for each connected hard drive or solid state drive. The compact design fits easily into standard cases and the plug and play setup requires no extra drivers.

Suits multi-drive storage builds

Builders expanding a system with many SATA or SAS drives will find eight ports on a single x1 slot convenient. Systems that lack a free PCIe x1 slot or need more than eight drive connections cannot use this card. Users requiring a different host interface are not served by this product.

PCIe x1 host interface

The card connects through a single PCIe x1 slot on the motherboard. This interface determines whether the card fits the target system and how many lanes are available for data transfer. Verify that the host platform provides an open x1 slot before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the PCIe x1 lane limit total throughput when all eight ports run at 6Gb/s?

The x1 interface caps aggregate bandwidth below eight simultaneous 6Gb/s streams, so sustained multi-drive transfers will hit the bus ceiling first.

How much power does the card draw when eight drives are active all day?

The adapter takes power from the PCIe slot and has no auxiliary connector, so total draw stays within the slot specification.

Does the card add audible fan noise or require extra cooling in a closed case?

It has no onboard fan and relies on case airflow; the low-profile PCB runs cool enough for typical desktop, server or NAS enclosures.
