Adds four SATA 3.0 6Gbps ports via a Mini SAS SFF8087 connector to any PCIe X1 slot
This SMUGDESK expansion card converts a single PCIe X1 slot into a Mini SAS SFF8087 port. It delivers four channels of SATA 3.0 6Gbps bandwidth for connecting multiple hard drives or solid-state drives. The board fits PCIe X1, X4, X8 and X16 slots and operates with Windows and Linux without extra drivers.
The adapter suits home NAS, small servers, mining rigs and multi-disk arrays that need extra SATA ports. It works with standard SFF8087 breakout cables to reach individual drives. Systems requiring more than four SATA connections or a higher-lane PCIe interface will not be served by this card.
The host link is one PCIe X1 lane, so combined drive speed cannot exceed that bottleneck. Four SATA 3.0 ports share the available bandwidth equally. Buyers needing full 6Gbps on every port simultaneously should verify their workload fits within the X1 ceiling.

Yes, the card exposes a single Mini SAS SFF8087 port so an SFF8087-to-SATA breakout cable is required to connect up to four SATA 3.0 6Gbps drives.
The PCIe X1 edge connector is electrically compatible with X1, X4, X8 and X16 slots, so it will function in any of those longer slots.
Check the negotiated link speed in your OS disk utility or BIOS; each connected drive should report SATA 3.0 6Gbps when the SFF8087 cable and drives support that rate.
